Looking for some more research i looked pearl and dean and about audience profile. Through this i have learnt that you have to realise that there is a diverse range of people going to the cinema and viewing films on regular bases.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO CONSIDER THE TARGET AUDIENCE WHEN MAKING A MEDIA PRODUCT?
Your target audience are who your relying on to make you money and the film a success, many of the active choices your going to make about the film are going to revolve around this group of people as they are the people you need to please with your product. Because of this it you must appeal to them with you product as this is who your targeting and they will make or break the film. This involved production , casting , marketing and more and thats why its such a key part.
HOW DOES IT BENEFIT THE PRODUCTION COMPANY?
Target audience is also important for companies and institutions as it can help them meet a marketing gap and they will also benefit from this making it a good place to find investors. this is reflected in your selling points , your target audience , material and appeal.
